Connectors
• HDMI Type-A male.
• DVI-I 24+5 female physical connector.
• Passive adapter for digital TMDS video; no driver or external power is required.
• An appropriate DVI cable is required and is not included.
Signal direction and resolution
• Can be used for digital video from an HDMI source to a DVI display, or from a compatible DVI digital source to an HDMI display.
• Supports up to 1080p Full HD / 1920×1200 class video, subject to the source, cable and display.
• Does not upscale, downscale or convert analog video.
Critical DVI-I limitation
• Although the female connector has the four extra analog pins of DVI-I 24+5, HDMI supplies only a digital signal.
• The analog pins are inactive in this adapter. It cannot output VGA and will not work as an HDMI-to-VGA converter through a passive DVI-to-VGA adapter.
• Use a suitable active converter when analog VGA output is required.
Audio and compatibility
• DVI connections normally carry video only. Use a separate audio path when sound is needed.
• HDCP-protected content works only when the source, adapter/cable path and display all support the required protection version.
• No 4K, dual-link DVI, analog RGB or audio guarantee.
• Secure the DVI cable screws where available and avoid side pressure on the HDMI plug.
