<p>A one-way active cable for sending video and compatible audio from a USB-C source to an HDMI television, monitor or projector. An attached USB-A lead supplies 5V auxiliary power for the adapter and supported charging behavior; the USB-A plug is not a data connection.</p>

<h3>Video and compatibility</h3>
<ul>
<li>HDMI 2.0, up to 3840×2160@60Hz and 1920×1080@60Hz under compatible full-chain conditions; legacy material also lists 3D support.</li>
<li>The USB-C source must support DisplayPort Alternate Mode video output. A charge/data-only USB-C port cannot output HDMI.</li>
<li>Fixed direction: USB-C source to HDMI display only. It cannot convert an HDMI source to a USB-C monitor.</li>
<li>Actual resolution, refresh rate, HDR/colour format, audio and content protection depend on the source hardware, operating system, app/content, cable electronics and HDMI display.</li>
<li>Phones and tablets must support wired display output on the exact model. Old compatibility examples must not be extended to newer devices without verification.</li>

<h3>5V auxiliary power</h3>
<ul>
<li>Connect the USB-A lead to a regulated 5V USB power source when required for adapter stability or supported charge-while-viewing operation.</li>
<li>The USB-A lead is for 5V power only. It does not carry USB data, does not add a USB hub and is not USB Power Delivery.</li>
<li>Do not connect it to another voltage or a damaged/unstable power source. Charging behavior and current depend on the phone, source port and 5V supply; fast charging is not promised.</li>

<h3>Connection steps</h3>
<ol>
<li>Power off or sleep the source and display before first connection.</li>
<li>Connect HDMI to the display and select the correct HDMI input.</li>
<li>Connect the USB-A auxiliary lead to a suitable regulated 5V USB source when required.</li>
<li>Connect USB-C to a DP Alt Mode source, then select mirror or supported display mode in the operating system.</li>
</ol>
<p>No driver is normally needed for standard DP Alt Mode output, but the host, OS and app must support external display. Avoid frequent powered hot-plugging, sharp bends and pulling the connector. Stop use for abnormal heat, smell, damage or unstable video.</p>
