A compatible Aqara hub is required; the sensor does not connect directly to Wi-Fi. Apple Home access depends on the connected hub and setup.

Installation and compatibility
- Install the sensor unit and magnet on clean, dry indoor surfaces and align them so the closed-position gap stays within the supported detection distance.
- Notifications and automation actions require a paired compatible hub, app access, network availability and correct configuration.
- This legacy Zigbee model is not the Thread-based Door and Window Sensor P2 and does not provide native Matter-over-Thread connectivity.
- Aqara product security support policy lists 30 June 2026 as the end of security-update support for MCCGQ11LM. Verify current hub, app and platform compatibility before purchase.
